Board Position Responsibilities
Last year the board documented key responsibilities of each board position per the ESOA By-laws and agreement of the ESOA Board. If you have input or a question regarding a certain aspect of East Shores operation, the listing below will help in knowing who to contact.
President
- Supervise and control the management of the Association
- Call and preside at ESOA meetings
- See that orders and resolutions of the Board are carried out
- Sign all leases, mortgages, deeds and other written instruments
- Co-sign checks and promissory notes
- Handle special issues brought up by home/lot owners
- Interface with key committees (Arch.; Dock; Social, etc.)
Vice President
- Serve as President when President is not available
- Discharge other duties as assigned by the Board – specifically:
- Serve as liaison with Mountain Lakes Community Assoc. and Advocates for Quality Development
- Handle Swimming Pool
Secretary
- Collect ballots, record votes and keep and publish meeting minutes
- Keep the corporate seal of the association and affix to all papers requiring it
- Provide notice of meetings
- Maintain HOA records
- Maintain current "roster" of home/lot owners information; publish annually
- Handle requests for covenant exemptions (parking etc.)
Treasurer
- Receive and deposit in appropriate accounts all monies of the ESOA
- Disburse funds as directed by the ESOA board
- Keep proper books of account and maintain financial records
- Cause an annual audit to be conducted by a public accountant
- Send out, collect and deposit twice a year dues
- Interface with banks and maintain bank accounts
- Prepare and report financial status (budget and statement of income and expenditures) at ESOA meetings and annual meeting
At large member
- Participate as a voting member of ESOA
- Perform duties as assigned by ESOA including:
- Manage lock codes and keys to pool, tennis courts and clubhouse
- Oversee clubhouse
- Manage Landscaper
